"Bought these to use while moving from CA to WA years ago. I wanted something to communicate with my brother-in-law in another truck while we moved. These worked flawlessly for communicating but the batteries drained pretty fast on the 15+ hour drive. We both had to recharge them at least once. The NiMH batteries also don't hold charge while not in use so need periodic recharging, Wish there was an option for upgraded batteries."

"Good Quality BUT,, It would have to be in PERFECT terrain and condition and on top of a mountain, to reach a 25 mile range!!!! I never could get more than 3 miles!!!!"

"These walkie talkies are great. They work so well outside and perfect for camping or going hikes to stay in touch with your group. It works in extreme weather and where cell phones dont have service. I haven't had to use them in an emergency situations but I have a feeling, it will come in handy. Very durable too and the perfect size."
